So as some of you may know, I was rear-ended a while back. I have some choice words for the person whom rear ended me but I digress. The damage limited to the rear bumper and to be honest I wasn’t too upset about it, though I love my car very much I realized that the damage was done and there was no point in mourning it, especially since it can be easily replaced.

Today is the day Dad took the car in to the shop for me so I drove the van. Driving home after another late night in the office I began to feel excited at the prospect of what rental car awaits my return. 1:30 am, pulling up to my drive way, garage door rising to slowly reveal: thin tires (‘Makes sense’ I thought as the car would be a compact which is within expectation; a silver round bumper (‘hmmm intriguing, a Corolla?’); triangle like red-rear lights (‘wait a minute, I’ve seen these lights before’); a chevy logo….; a cobalt…..

I literally laughed out loud at this point. I.. am… driving….a Chevy…Cobalt… AHHAHAHHAAHA, this is just too fregen funny. For those of you who are confused, sufficed to say I wouldn’t be caught dead in one but I just couldn’t help but appreciate the humour in it all. I’m actually rather excited about driving it now. It’s like an excuse to indulge my insanity and drive an American car. It’s almost as stupid as losing my mind and, I don’t know, buying a Crossfire for example; I mean I’d enjoy the insanity but wouldn’t be stupid enough to do it for any extended period of time. I’m really going to enjoy how wierd it’ll feel in this car. It’s just so… American.

To be fair, I’ve sat in a similar car before so I have a sense of what it will be like, it’s actually picked up some cues from its Japanese brothers so some of the design makes much more sense than other American cars I’ve sat in *cough*Caliber*cough*. The rental is like brand new, so bonus points there as well.

If I have time, I’ll update on the drive itself tomorrow :)

Till I get my Jetta back, I’ll be missing the lil things, like the beautiful sound the door makes as it closes; not too tin-ny like a light japanese door, and a more refined sound then a heavy american door slam.
